Q: Do the Amish heat their homes with traditional natural gas, electric furnaces, or wood stoves?
~ Caryn Jaeschke
Most Amish have a wood-burning cook stove in the kitchen, and either a coal or wood furnace in the basement. Without a blower to force the hot air from the furnace throughout the entire house, the upstairs bedrooms are often very cold during the winter months.
