Q: I know Amish mothers love flowers, but I remember reading somewhere that they did not bring them inside to decorate the table. Is that true, and if so, why?
A. That probably depends if the flowers are made to be cut or not. Personally, we always enjoyed multiple vases in our home filled with gladiolus when they were blooming. Spring lilac bouquets also made the house smell delightful. Daffodils made lovely bouquets as well, and if there are rose bushes available you can count on bouquets being made from them.
Spring time will often include bouquets of dandelions and violets (delivered by little hands) gracing the table.
