Q. I have a question about traditions in Amish weddings. Do Amish mothers really plant celery for the wedding month? If yes, why do they do that?
A. Most Amish communities do not use celery at their weddings, however, it is very common in Lancaster, PA and its daughter settlements. As with the case of so many traditions, the only reason I am aware of why they do this is because they have always done so.
