Q. Do the Amish celebrate holidays like Father’s Day and Mother’s Day? I don’t think in any of the books I’ve read there was mention of either being celebrated.
A. There won’t be any elaborate gifts or breakfasts in bed, but some of the Amish do celebrate Mother’s and Father’s Day. Children will often write a letter of appreciation and make a card for their parent. The father may pitch in and do the dishes on Mother’s Day and the mother will often bake the father’s favorite pie for Father’s Day.
