Welcome to our very first Gather ‘Round reader story! Denise joins us today to share about her visit to Berlin, Ohio:
A memory that replays in my head over and over from our 2016 trip to Ohio. We trekked to Berlin, OH, and there was a farmer plowing his field with horses. Books tell a lot but being a visual person, it was interesting to see this sight.
The other thing that was fun for me was to see that it was obviously wash day as all the lines, whether an actual clothesline or a rope strung around the porch or strung from the barn to porch, were full of clothing blowing in the wind. It was fascinating to see the lines full of tiny little black trousers (10 pair), followed by a bit larger trousers and then small white shirts, lovely dark colored dresses for Momma and Father’s black trousers at the end of the line.
