I want to learn about the Amish water sources. Where do they get it, how do they harvest it and how do they heat it. I have heard some use wells. Do they dig their own? How is the digging done? How is it pumped? Thank you for the insight! —Charity M.
Amish use well water. The digging is done by the same well drilling companies anyone else would use. Most use a water pump run by either a small gas engine, a wind mill, or a pneumatic option. Heating water can be done in various ways, an oil or gas water heater being a popular choice for the majority while others will still heat their water using their wood cook stove.
