My name is Suzanne Woods Fisher, and I’m an author of fiction and non-fiction books about the Old Order Amish. But this website isn’t about me. It’s about you.
I’m just like you…I want to know about other authors, to stay on top of new book releases, to find out more of what it means to be Amish (or Mennonite or German Baptist or Hutterite). That’s why I started the Amish Wisdom radio show a few years ago—and it became one of the top rated shows on toginet.com. But there came a point when my writing schedule squeezed out the time I could give the radio show and so the show came to an end.
But…I missed it. And so did listeners. Then it occurred to me that the concept of the radio show could continue in print form. Easier to manage, time-wise, than a weekly radio show. And more interactive, too. So I’ve put together a crackerjack team to “morph” the radio into a blog and monthly newsletter.
We want your input—your best travel tips to Amish country, your favorite shops and restaurants, which authors you’d like to know more about. There are some fun regular features in store for you: a sneak peek at first chapters in new releases. Sherry Gore is going to share recipes from Pinecraft, Florida, the winter getaway spot for Amish and Mennonites. We’ll have book giveaways, reviews, and on-line book clubs. And we have an Amish scribe who is willing to answer your questions about Amish life.
So welcome to Amish Wisdom, a radio show-turned-blog! Sign up to receive updates right to your e-mail box. And please share the news of Amish Wisdom with your friends! The more the merrier.
